Wagner Sod has been a family business since 1962 and we provide the Best High Quality Cultured Bluegrass Blend of Sod in the Upper Midwest area.  

For our customers who have large turf jobs, we are pleased to provide Big Roll Harvesting, which produce turf rolls approximately 27 yards. Big Rolls from Wagners provide high quality and installation that is more efficient. Since installation is used by our laying machines, it does the lifting and placement of the sod; saving both time and labor. It also provides a smoother surface, and 66% less seams to prevent drying of your sod. By placing the sod down faster, it’s gives the turf less stress because you are able to provide the sod with water more quickly. The big rolls stay in place due to the size of the roll, and they are ready for play more quickly than other turf installation methods.  

Our customers who would like to have Small Rolls delivered, we suggest ordering the sod the day before you would like to install it.   We harvest our sod fresh every morning, so you receive it the day of harvest and for best results it should be installed the same day of delivery. At the time of your delivery, make sure that your yard is prepared and graded so when you receive your sod that you will be ready to install your sod to maintain it's healthy lush green appearance.   It's very important to know that sod needs to be installed the same day you get your sod delivery or by next morning before noon depending upon what time of the year you are installing it.  In the hotter months it needs to be done the same day of delivery.   Sod needs to be treated like a shrub or any plant that needs water in order to keep it green and also to maintain it's beautiful quality from the start.   Make sure you never cover the sod or keep it rolled up on a pallet longer than 24 hours as it can heat up and discolor the sod and effect the quality.  If it does rain after you receive your sod, don't ever cover the sod, leave it out in the open just as you received the sod on delivery because it will heat up even faster and to get the sod down asap, even if it's raining.  It will help also to maintain the grade or prep you had from the start of your job or install. 

 Our small rolls are 2'X5' (10 sf per roll) and have 64 rolls on a pallet which makes it 640 square feet total per pallet.  Our trucks are loaded with approximately 18 to 22 pallets of sod depending upon the time of the year.  Also with your delivery we offer easy forklift unloading for any of your projects that have over 3 pallets or more for delivery.  We also provide pickup at our Inver Grove Heights location for the smaller projects - please call to see when it's available so we can make sure we have it on hand.  Our deliveries are Monday through Friday and for Saturday deliveries, we deliver late Friday afternoon so you can lay your Sod early Saturday morning.
